Tips for Getting Any Child into A Top Kindergarten
In Book, Soon to be a Major Motion Picture, Admissions Insider Reveals Bizarre Parent Tactics and Tips for Getting Any Child into A Top Kindergarten or Pre-K.
There’s a new, astonishing phenomenon sweeping the nation and if it hasn’t reached your city yet, it’s only a matter of time. It’s the cutthroat world of preschool and kindergarten admissions and in it, the competition for getting a child into a top rated school is so fierce, many parents will stop at nothing to gain an advantage.
Don’t believe it exists? Just ask Karen Quinn, a former Manhattan preschool admissions advisor and author of “The Ivy Chronicles,” a novel inspired by her real-life experiences.
According to Quinn, parents have resorted to some shocking tactics just to give their child an advantage:
In New York City, a mother insisted that the woman tutoring her son for his kindergarten admissions test teach him while he was sleeping, so he’d “get it” subliminally.
In Los Angeles, a father tried to hire a computer hacker to access the nursery school profile of his son to add the words “Our little angel” and “A credit to our preschool” to his records.
In Denver, a mom arrived at 5 AM to sign her daughter up for a once a week nursery program. It was too late. She would have had to arrive by 3 AM to get a spot. The mother reported, “Parents who were told there was no room at the school collapsed into tears in the parking lot.”
In Beverly Hills, a father hired an acting coach to work with his “blah” four year-old so he’d sparkle for his kindergarten interview.
Quinn’s book “The Ivy Chronicles” has struck a chord with so many parents that it is being made into a major motion picture starring Catherine Zeta Jones.
A special tip sheet is available to members of the media for their readers. It includes:
The number-one mistake parents make when applying to selective schools (it’s more surprising than you think!)
The top three reasons a school will reject your child and how to keep it from happening to you.

The two questions every parent will be asked in an admissions interview and the answers that will win a school over
The five key ways to work with your pre-K child now so he’ll excel at both the classroom and in any kindergarten admissions test.
