Question by Kernel Prenel: What do you do to get your kid super prepared for kindergarten. Smarter than the other little kids.?
Do you prep for kindergarten? I know they don’t do much but sing songs there but I want to get my child ready so she moves into kindergarten and 1st grade with ease at the top of her class better than everyone. Really I do. Do you start with schooling at home? Do you push your child even though it might be uncomfortable for them? Special advice? My daughter is only 3 now but I want to start soon.

Buy her lots of books. The sooner she picks up reading and enjoys it the better

Books are good. If you read with her a lot she’ll be ahead when it’s time to start reading herself. Singing the alphabet song is fun to help her solidify her letters. After you’ve mastered that, teach her to spell her own name and start learning to write it, maybe with crayon in her favorite color. Also, learning the numbers and learning to identify them can give a kid a head start in kindergarten.

Hi. I am 16 and you ar just like my mom. You don’t want to prep your child too much. If you do they will say they are bored of school. You never push a child too hard. When she is in young fives, if she is in young fives then prepare her a little. And if she finds kindergarten hard, I suggest you buy her some books and make her do the questions.

i have no idea whether that’s serious or not.

but at any rate, the answer is to prepare them for life, not kindergarten, and for running their fastest and farthest but not for beating out sally jane from down the street.

Did Dread ever get your attention long enough to find out how you pronounce Prenel? Because I am now super curious.

Maybe there are preschools that would help you do that.

Instead, or in addition, you should prepare your child by teaching the things that they never teach in school. Prepare them for life. That’s what school is supposed to ultimately do, anyway.

For children to do well in school, parents should already teach them the skills needed to handle schoolwork. In encouraging kids to develop essential study habits, it is best to remember that children are unique individuals. A particular learning strategy may work well for one child, but it may not be too effective for others.

Some kids may learn best by listening to a lecture, while others can vividly remember details only when they are able to see visual images. Identify a strategy that is most effective for your child, and provide necessary materials for successful studying to take place. For visual learners, you can provide picture books and illustrations that can help them better remember certain concepts. Provide plenty of writing materials for kids who need to write down notes when studying.

You may also focus in developing the right attitude in your child. The attitude of children towards learning can greatly be influenced by how they are taught at an early age. With short attention spans, you can never expect them to study for a prolonged period of time. But with a child’s curious nature, it is still very possible to develop a love for learning at an early age. Kids should never associate learning with something that is being imposed on them. It should rather come from their inherent desire to learn more things.

    Hope this helps!
